About Bram
I became involved in art and music early in life. I started my first band at age 14 and began doing art & graphics professionally in my late teens and early twenties.
These creative threads have woven throughout my entire life in one form or another, and find expression in the present in my Web designs and original World Fusion compositions.
Up until recently, my musical expression was as a singer/songwriter. I wrote songs with titles like, Between Two Worlds, Dancing Where the Darkness Meets the Light, Lela, and Waking World, among many other. I tried with my lyrics to poetically illustrate the challenges one confronts attempting to live consciously in a world seemingly filled with contradictions and separation.
As I realize nondual awareness, I find I have less interest in convincing anyone of anything (or of even using English words much at all to express my musical inspirations). To write good lyrics you need a strong point of view, and I'm seeing more and more how my points of view are temporary and do so quickly change, like the ripples in a pond after I trace a finger across the surface of the water.
The last few lines from my favorite Rumi Poem says it better than I can.
"Stop the words now.
Open the window in the center of your chest,
and let the spirits fly in and out."
More often than not these days, the music I listen to is instrumental World Fusion, along with Sanskrit and other vocal chants. I'm receiving much more satisfaction composing with my EWI and the other electronica that is at my disposal these days. No judgements... it just makes my heart sing.
I'm currently living in the idyllic town of Ashland, Oregon. Because of the incredible natural beauty of this place, the art & theatre, and the grounded consciousness of so many of the folks who live here, I can't imagine living anywhere else. Although I would like to spend more time traveling the world, especially in Southeast Asia (so far, Bali and Thailand) where I've been lucky enough to spend several months over the past years.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find my creative endeavors worth exploring.
